How to formulate a basic social media strategy outline? Well, I have come across this nice article today that describes what should be your basic social media strategy outline. The example here is for a music company or for a band or for a musician/singer.There are six goals of such social media campaign.
Firstly you need to know the primary movement of fans / followers and the purpose of each social media tool. So the 6 goals of a social media campaign to formulate your basic social media strategy should be -
1. Reach more people
2. To keep their fans informed
3. To allow people to sample the product/service (Music here for example)
4. To sell the product/service and merchandise
5. To have content that people pass along to friends
6. To engage their fans to encourage continued interest.

Reach – twitter, video, blogs/press, myspace, facebook, reverbnation, ourstage, podcast/internet radio
Inform – twitter, myspace, facebook, reverbnation, ourstage, website, email
Sample – myspace, facebook, reverbnation, ourstage, website, email
Sell – myspace, website, ebay, amazon
Pass along – video, blogs, press, social bookmarking
Engage – video, twitter, website/blog, email
Video sites include youtube, dailymotion, metacafe, blip.tv, yahoo video, Google video, revver, mogulus, vimeo, AOL video, spike, collegehumor, FunnyOrDie, livevideo, veoh
Social bookmarking includes digg, furl, reddit, yahoo buzz, magnolia, delicious, stumbleupon, spurl, propeller
This is the basic social media strategy outline. There are many other parameters to consider for an advanced strategic road-map to your social media success. I’ll discuss more in my next posts.
