Percentage Of American Internet Users Contributing Through Social Networking Sites

As per 2008 Netpop statistics, among 138 million U.S. Broadband users who are 13+, 105 million Americans are social contributors (76%), among 105 million social contributors, 29% (40 million) Americans are very active social networkers. Rest 24% (33 million) are non contributors.

Social contributors are those who upload audio, upload video, post to a wiki, publish a blog, upload photos, upload podcasts, publish websites, tag articles, videos, post to a micro blog, send forward emails, live in a virtual world, rate or review a product, share files in P2P network etc.
